The development of Shopne Arcade is started out of curiosity to easily run Neo Geo arcade games on GNU/Linux with minimal efforts. Though Neo Geo emulaor such as GnGeo is great for running Neo Geo games on low spec GNU/Linux computers but it was lacking an easy to use graphical user interface to easily configure different aspects of Neo Geo emulation. Thus Shopne Arcade found it's way into existence.

Shopne Arcade had two design goals:

• Minimal dependencies and reliance on external libraries
• Compatibility across different GNU/Linux distributions

As a consequence Shopne Arcade uses the following software packages:

•     Python TkInter for the graphical user interface 
•     GnGeo for emulating Neo Geo system on PC

With Shopne Arcade you will be able to run various commercial Neo Geo arcade games on you GNU/Linux distributions with ease. Just download 32 or 64 bit version of Shopne Arcade on your GNU/Linux distribution and use it with a valid Neo Geo BIOS file where the BIOS file should be put into the Neo Geo games rom files folder.
